So if you’ve been following what adventures I’ve got going on in 2018, you’d know I have a few ziplines to conquer!  I was in Las Vegas last weekend and though it was for my sister’s first ever baby shower, I made it a point to ride the Slotzilla zipline and it was A-W-E-S-O-M-E!  It is at Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas.

Normally I like to stay on the strip but since my dad was also in town, we stayed in the same hotel he was in.  It was a 10-minute walk to Fremont St Slotzilla from the hotel, Main Street Hotel & Casino.  I would strongly suggest you buy your tickets online instead of at the ticket counter, because the line is long and there are only limited slots available each day.  We fell into the 12:40am slot but bought the tickets at 10pm.  I’m usually a great planner but this time I assumed that we’d get on fairly easy because how many other brave souls would be in line for this thing?  Well, I was wrong.  The line was long and some people were turned away as slots filled up.  Working up to it was not nerve wrecking at all.  You climb up one flight of stairs then there’s an elevator that takes you up to where you fly off from.  I did the Zoomline, super hero style!  No regrets, and very exciting!  You fly over all the party goers, 114 feet below, as they cheer you on or stare in awe.  I would definitely do it again.

Pricing goes as follows:
Upper Zoomline:
$40 (Open to 5:40 p.m.)
$45 (6:00 p.m. to close)
$49 (6:00 p.m. to close for Friday and Saturday)

– Fly 1,700 feet, 114 feet up, super hero-style
– Weight/height limits: Must be between 80-300 pounds, under 6’8″

Lower Zipline:
$20 (Open to 5:40 p.m.)
$25 (6:00 p.m. to close)

– Fly 850 feet, 77 feet up, seated
– Weight/height limits: Must be between 50-300 pounds, under 6’8″

Get on it if you are ever in Las Vegas.  I promise you will love it!! 😉

As for the hotel, if you are looking for a budget trip to Las Vegas, Main Street hotel is the right place for you.  Hotels on the strip are usually more expensive and the ones in downtown are affordable.  If you are a college student on a budget, you can fly from DFW to LAS from $215-330 roundtrip and stay in a downtown hotel for $35-70/nt.

Cons:  One side of the hotel is noisier than the other due to the train track.  Ask to stay on the freeway side.  You won’t hear the train as bad.  Even as exhausted as I was everyday, the noise from the train still woke me.

Pros:  Extremely affordable, good buffet and walking distance to Fremont Street where you can party and enjoy endless entertainment.
