Why you should enroll in TSA PreCheck

tsaprecheckI travel often and one thing is for sure, traveling CAN be stressful.  One of the best ways to relieve that stress is by enrolling in TSA Pre✓.  When you arrive at the airport, if you’ve already checked in your bags at the kiosk or are traveling light and don’t have any bags to check, you immediately head to the TSA Pre✓ line with your ID and paper or mobile boarding pass.  The line that is almost always much shorter than the regular line.

If you love going to the airport super early, taking off your shoes and jacket, laptop, liquids and waiting in a long line than keep at it.  Otherwise the investment of $85 for five years is worth it.  You will appreciate the convenience.  TSA Pre costs $85 and Global Entry costs $100 for a five year membership.

Steps:

First, apply online and schedule an appointment at a nearby enrollment center.  I for example, had my appointment in Terminal D at the Dallas/Fort Worth airport.

Second, your in person appointment is roughly ten minutes and it entails a background check and fingerprints.  The process is fairly quick and easy.  I believe a lot of people don’t enroll because they think the process is long or that it is expensive when it’s completely the opposite.

Lastly, once you’ve been provided a KTN (Known Travel Number) via email, you can add it to your ticket reservations and you’ll be recognized as a Pre✓ traveler.  The TSA Pre✓ image will be on your boarding pass as well.

Which do you prefer?…

I hope I’ve encouraged you to sign up.  The process is easy and inexpensive.  It will definitely reduce the stress travel can bring.
